Hi beauties! When this fragrance landed on my desk I immediately thought of Blair Waldorf in that exquisite pink Oscar de la Renta gown. Everything about it whispered elegance, charm and timelessness with a small hint of sparkle and whimsy.
Extraordinary Pétale is a fresh, new interpretation on the original Extraordinary fragrance, romantically inspired by the springtime.
This bubbly scent is housed in an elegant star/flower shaped flacon which is fashioned from the loveliest pink glass. You can definitely see inspirations from the Oscar de la Renta runway in the lines and colours of the bottles. The spray nozzle is gold and covered by a bright pink stopper which delicately bears the Oscar de la Renta logo. I love how the darker stopper gives the whole thing an ombré effect.
The box is just as dreamy, inspired by Peter Copping’s spring 2016 collection, combining botanical lace with vibrant colour.
Extraordinary Pétale opens with a fresh burst of zesty mandarin and bursts of bergamot champagne. The heart is more floral and unfolds with a bouquet of roses which is warmed with jasmine absolute and charged with a hint of orange blossom absolute. The fragrance warms into creamy amber and musk at the base with vanilla orchid petals which gives it a lovely, pleasant dry down. The effect is fizzy, floral and heartening.
I am not really into floral scents but the fresh, bubbly notes really make this wearable for me. It makes me want to put on a pink ball gown and run through some flowers! I do, however, think I will put this one away for the springtime and the warmer months.
Extraordinary Pétale is an Eau de Parfum and the wear for me is 7 hours +. It is really long lasting for such a delicate scent.
You can find Extraordinary Pétale by Oscar de la Renta exclusively at Dischem where it retails for ZAR1395 for 90mL.
Until next time
Love and sparkles
