Hi beauties! This chic little perfume landed on my desk a while back and I was charmed because it is just so cute! I’m not too familiar with scents from the fragrance house but I have been using it since then and today I am going to tell you what I think.
“Perfumer Anne Flipo, who created the Eau de Parfum Mademoiselle Rochas, wanted to reflect the playfulness and impertinence of today’s young Parisian woman. Drawing her inspiration from the exceptional materials emblematic of Maison Rochas, Anne Flipo has delicately composed, note by note, a seductive fragrance. Created for an energetic and liberated woman; in love with life and beauty.”
The box draws on the minimal and “millennial pink” trend of recent. It is very unassuming, from the design to the font. The only detail on the outside of the box is an elegant, modest pinstriped embossing. Once opened, there is a cute surprise on the inside flap. It says the words “My Frenchic” in baby pink, perfectly embodying the charm of the fragrance inside.
The bottle is a simple, soft-pink, round flacon with a sophisticated silver stopper. The pinstripe embossing transcends through to the bottle and branding. When you turn the bottle around you are once again greeted by “My Frenchic” which is visible through the pretty pink liquid. The bottle is finished off with a simple white, pinstripe silk ribbon; a homage to the Rochas fashion house. It is usually sewn into the lining of all Rochas coats as a seal for its connoisseurs. I absolutely love little details like this!
The actual fragrance follows the trail of a floral gourmand. It begins with juicy and plummy red and black currants and blackberries, blended with French Ivy for a hint of freshness. This blend is then sweetened with toffee apples! It is an interesting and unique accord because it mixes the freshness of apples with the warmth and syrupiness of caramel. The heart is a romantic explosion of flowers; mingling Egyptian jasmine and a hint of violet with plenty of distilled rose petals, picked from the Rochas fields. The base dries down to creamy and warm sandalwoods and ambergris and wisps of Chantilly musks, a tribute to the abundance of white lace used at the Rochas atelier.
The effect is really, really lovely. I am not a fan of floral fragrances but the sweet toffee apple really turns it around for me. I have been wearing it for some time now and I think it is the perfect scent for those balmy Spring evenings. It is a charming little scent is going to be spending a lot of time on my dressing table.
