Hi babes! So what happens when the world’s most popular flip-flop brand launches a range of eyewear? A rooftop Brazilian Barbecue, bathed in sunshine in the City of Gold! Who says you need an actual beach to go “Back to the Beach”?! 😉
Last Sunday saw the who’s-who of Jozi in their hottest kaftans and cut-offs celebrating the launch of Havaianas Eyewear at the San Deck in Sandton. Sipping on mocktails over the sounds of DJ Kimmky K and Mr Back to the Beach himself, Kyle Deutsch, we were introduced to the colourful new eyewear collection in a beach hut! The eyewear is produced in partnership with the Safilo Group.
The collection is a bright, kaleidoscopic fusion of Brazilian heritage, merged with the spirit of Summer street style. They come in 5 shapes; Pilot, Cat-eye, Panthos, Square and Floripa and an array of both vibrant and muted colours. Each colour combination has been named after a Brazillian beach (Rio, Paraty, Trancoso, Noronha and Floripa).
The shades are sturdy and comfortable, made from rubber, acetate and polyamide. They also come in 4 different sizes, including XL which is a global first. The sunglasses are finished off with the distinctive “rice” pattern of the Havaianas flip-flops. The detailing is brilliant, with the pairs even sporting a tiny Brazillian flag.
You can pick up your own pair of Havaianas Eyewear from the middle of March (yes, this was a very early sneak peek!) at selected eyewear retailers including, EyeCandy in Hyde Park Corner, The Eyemakers, Sunstoppers Gateway in Umhlanga, Interoptika at the Mall of Africa and the Havaianas store in Sun City. Havaianas will be launching 2 eyewear collections a year.
Until next time
Love and sparkles
