#MakeSomeoneHappy with La Vie Est Belle

Especially today, it’s so important to find beauty and happiness in the little things. For me it’s, amongst others, a cup of tea, a good book or series that I can get lost in, French fries, my best friend and a really lovely gourmand fragrance.

Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle was developed by perfumers Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion and is said to be the final formula of 5000 versions! Lancome wanted to capture happiness in a bottle which, for me, it definitely does!

La Vie Est Belle opens with a sparkle of blackcurrant and pear that open into heady Iris, orange blossoms and jasmine sambac in the floral heart. The base is a toasty, syrupy blend of tonka bean, aromatic patchouli essence, vanilla and sugary praline. The effect is sweet, buttery and warm.  La Vie Est Belle is really so comforting, a spritz can turn my day around.

The bottle is inspired by Armand Petitjean’s 1949 concept of capturing a woman’s smile in a bottle, as if sculpted in crystal. I love the delicate little organza ribbon tied around the neck too!

The La Vie Est Belle muse is one of my favourite actresses, Julia Roberts (Pretty Woman anyone?). Her smile and bubbly personality are just infectious and her genuine warmth can melt even the coldest hearts. The latest campaign all about sharing happiness and you can take a look at it below. Seriously, how amazing is Julia?!

When Lancome challenged me to share happiness and Make Someone Happy with a bottle of La Vie Est Belle I could only think of one person – my best friend Raeesa. We don’t see each other all the time, in fact, I haven’t seen her in over a month now but knowing she is there comforts me. We can speak for hours about nothing but we’re also always there to motivate each other and support each other when things get a little tough. I have seen her learn and grow and I couldn’t be prouder of the woman she has become. La Vie Est Belle (Life is Beautiful) when you have someone like Raeesa to share it with.

If you’d like to make yourself or someone else happy you can pick up a bottle of La Vie Est Belle Eau de Parfum from the Lancome boutique in Sandton City (if you haven’t visited please do! It’s a lovely little store) or selected retailers for ZAR1440 (50mL). There are also two other selections in the La Vie Est Belle fragrance family – La Vie Est Belle Eclat De Parfum ZAR1440 and La Vie Est Belle Intense ZAR1500 (50ml).

Until next time

Love and sparkles
