{FRAGRANCE REVIEW} | Orissima by Ted Lapidus 2

Hi beauties. Most recently, Ted Lapidus has launched a fragrance that is an “ode to the Parisian woman”. When I think Parisian; I think of chic little cafes, quaint boutiques, beautiful and sugary patisserie, coffee cups stained with red lipstick, crisp white shirts and effortless sophistication.  Orissima is a floral gourmand fragrance that captures all of this in a bottle.

The packaging and bottle is very clean and chic. The box is textured like a white shirt and has minimal branding in a deep rose gold. The soft, peachy toned fragrance sits in a faceted glass towering flacon. The bottle is topped with a lovely, octagonal rose gold topper. It is all very simple and sophisticated to begin with and leaves a lot of room for the actual fragrance to shine.

On initial spritz I get a syrupy hit of ripe peaches. I have heard that this might have been inspired by tarte tartin. There is also a slight juiciness of grapefruit at the top before the fragrance eases into its floral notes. The heart is a gorgeous bouquet of white flowers. Fragrant peonies and crisp irises are blended together with slightly bitter orange blossoms. Orissima unwinds into patchouli, musk and sweet caramel at the base. This works so well with the peaches and is really reminiscent of a warm tarte tartin. I really love the mixture of juicy, sugary notes with crisp, fresh flowers.

Orissima is an Eau de Parfum and the wear is incredibly long. It even lingers on until the next day. I happened to get some onto a scarf I was wearing a few weeks back and it is still holding the scent!

When I wear Orissima it makes me think of old sophistication. It isn’t floral or fruity, despite having notes like peach, grapefruit and peony. It is just pleasantly sweet and elegant and not heady or pushy. I would recommend this if you love sweet fragrances and you are looking for something a little more grown up.

You can find Orissima by Ted Lapidus at Dischem, Clicks or Red Square/Edgars where it retails for ±ZAR895 for 100mL.

Until next time

Love and sparkles
