{FRAGRANCE REVIEW} | Modern Princess by Lanvin 6

With Royal Wedding excitement and bliss so thick in the air this year, it was the perfect time for Lanvin to launch their latest fragrance – Modern Princess. Modern Princess is inspired by the free-spirited, the rebellious and the rule breakers. (Sounds an awful lot like the newest member of the royal family, doesn’t it?) It embodies glamour, sensuality and the taste for adventure. The Modern Princess creates her own destiny.

The face of the fragrance is Steffy Argelich and the campaign is very simple and edgy. It features Steffy in a black bodysuit with natural hair and makeup.

Modern Princess is housed in a simple, bright red box. The bottle is beautiful but unpretentious.

It almost looks like a lovely pleated skirt. It is embellished with dainty metal chain detail – a signature of the House of Lanvin. A simple, crystal lid tops off the fragrance.

Pink apple and jasmine are the stars of the show in Lanvin’s modern princess. The top opens in a most invigorating and youthful manner with delicious notes of sweet, crisp pink apples and tart redcurrants. The pink apples were specifically chosen for their unique fresh, candied flavour.

Floral bouquets of jasmine and freesia embody the more grown up middle. The jasmine petal extracts are very natural and subtle, mimicking being near jasmine flowers which are still on the stem. The fragrance slowly warms into velvety vanilla orchids and white musks at the base.

I love the sweet subtlety of Modern Princess. The syrupy crispness mixed with the warmth at the base actually smells like strawberries and cream to me. It’s chic and unpretentious. It is also a very long lasting perfume and the dry-down is so pleasant and aromatic.

Modern Princess by Lanvin is one of the few fragrances that I believe can be worn all year round.

Lanvin’s Modern Princess is available exclusively at the Canal Walk; Gateway; Eastgate; Menlyn; Mall of Africa and Sandton City Foschini stores.

Until next time

Love and sparkles
